Happy Monday! Do you know what day it is? It’s Bachelor Monday! What better way to celebrate then with one of my and Americas favorite contestant from last season.
Having a mind blank and can’t remember last season? Well last Bachelor season was with Clayton as the lead. Clayton ended up proposing to Susie Evans which she rejected. She was the first one in the shows history to reject the lead. ICONIC!
Did that refresh your memory?
Also the fact that her and I have the same celebrity crush - Michael B Jordan? Now that’s iconic!
Well this week I’m excited for you all to meet Bachelor 26 contestant: Susie Evans.
That’s right, that Iconic Susie!
Tell me about you!
SE: I was born in Virginia Beach and lived there until I was 9, then moved to a small coastal town called Poquoson where I mostly grew up. I have two amazing parents that I feel I owe every ounce of good that I am, to them. My mom always taught me about the power of having a healthy and positive mindset and my dad instilled in me the belief that I could literally do anything I set my mind to. I have an older brother who has become one of my best friends in this lifetime. He's an incredible brother and example of how to stand by your family. I admire him more than he even knows. I have a little sister who was adopted at 11 years old when I was 17. We didn't grow up together but I've gotten to see her grow up and watching her become who she is today is such a gift. She's absolutely resilient and stronger than most people I know.
Growing up did you ever think you'd be on reality tv?
SE: I didn't really know what reality TV was growing up but when I was a little girl, I wanted to be an actor! That was until I got my first taste of having to say lines on stage and it turns out I am incredibly nervous on stage/in performance settings. I've always been active in theatre but never really had great success, I let my stage fright hold me back for many many years. I actually worked as a stage hand on most of my college productions rather than participate in them on stage because I just loved being apart of the production but didn't have the guts to be on stage. I've become much more comfortable as I've gotten older though.
What brought you to the world of The Bachelor?
SE: My friends nominated me 4 years ago when I came back from Japan. Once they nominated me I watched my first season and low key got hooked! I must have been on a list or maybe just on their radar after that because I've consistently been reached out to by the show for the past 4 years but it was just never the right time until 2021.
Do you have anything you would have done differently on your season?
SE: Most definitely! I would have kept certain conversations private. Obviously if I knew what I know now, a lot could have been different. But considering the circumstances and what I knew then, I'm proud of how I handled what things.
Do you think it's possible we'd ever see you on the BIP beach?
SE: I like to think not... I hope I will be in a committed relationship by the time the next season rolls around.
You've teased about a new roommate any chance we can get a hint?
SE: I will be honest, I don't even have a lease yet. Literally NOTHING is set in stone. I may end up flying solo to LA. We will have to wait and see.
You're a wedding videographer, do you think it's harder now when doing weddings now that you've been in the spotlight?
SE: Not at all! Most people are SUPER respectful and don't say anything all day at the wedding and then come up to me at the end of the night and politely ask for a pic or if I will come out to the after party with them. It's actually so fun, it feels like I have built in friends everywhere I go now!
Is there a celebrity you would die to shoot their wedding?
SE: I mean... Brandon and Serene!? I would literally die. First of all Serene is one of the sweetest most genuine people I've met in BN and the two of them are so stunning it would be any videographers dream to have such beautiful humans in front of their camera!
If you could go on any other tv show which would it be?
SE: It's not technically possible and I know it's not reality TV but I'm a big Seinfeld fan and I would love to have a cameo on there... Or That 70's Show. I was a big fan. ( I guess I would need a time machine to make either of those happen) I don't really watch many TV shows any more - Oh wait! I just want to work on the next season of Down To Earth. I'll even take a PA job.
If you could have dinner with three people who would they be and why?SE: Honestly I would have to pick 4 people - my parents, my brother and sister. I sat here and tried to think of all the people I could choose for this answer but honestly, I love my family so much, I cherish any time we get all together. Family dinner with them is special enough and something I would pick any day over a dinner with anyone else!
And finally what is a fun fact about you some people may not know?
SE: I feel like I've given away many of my fun facts, so I don't know if this is new to anyone but I did a solo back pack trip through western Europe summer of 2018! It was a major bucket list item that I had planned with a boyfriend from 2015 but we kept procrastinating. He and I ultimately broke up and after I finished my working visa in Japan I took off and did the Euro trip by myself! I wasn't going to let being single get in the way of crossing it off my bucket list!
